Talking Quilt

Talking Quilt
Date Created - 2000
The Talking Quilt is the result of weeks of intergenerational interactions where, following sensitivity training, students were charged with recording senior's stories in order to create a quilt theme. Once the stories were recorded, the team worked to draw, cut, and assemble each quilt. During the process, recorded interviews were edited and transferred to compact disc to accompany the finished quilts, which provided a narrative interpretation of the quilt and shared the team's newfound knowledge.
