Healing Quilt

Healing Quilt
Date Created - 2002
In response to the tragedies of September 11, 2001, seniors from Germantown Home and students created the Healing Quilt. Designed as an American flag, the quilt was presented to the City of Philadelphia Police and Fire Departments. The Healing Quilt, replete with the seniors' and students' thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes was a way for residents and students to show their thanks to Philadelphia's everyday heroes. The quilt traveled for six months to various police and fire departments before being proudly displayed in Philadelphia's 9-11-02 Memorial March.
